Sample collection

Sample collection

Collection is simple and painless — just swab the inside of your cheek with a special brush (buccal swab) for 30 seconds. Place the sample in the provided envelope and send it to the laboratory.

3

Laboratory analysis

The laboratory performs DNA extraction from the sample, sequencing of target regions, and analysis of STR/SNP markers. Based on the genetic data, we determine your haplogroup.

Results

You will receive a clear PDF report with haplogroup identification, a migration map of your ancestors, interpretation of results, and a certificate of origin.

Sample collection — simple and painless

The collection kit contains sterile swabs, instructions, and a return envelope. Anyone can do it — simply swab the inside of your cheek for 30 seconds.

In-person collection is available at our collection point in Prague. We will prepare the kit on site and collect the sample for you.

Do not eat, drink, or smoke for at least 30 minutes before collection.

What happens in the laboratory

STR / SNP

We isolate DNA from the buccal swab and perform sequencing of target genome regions. We analyse STR (Short Tandem Repeat) and SNP (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism) markers.

Haplogroup DB

The resulting genetic profile is compared against a worldwide haplogroup database to determine your precise genetic group.

Processing time

Genealogy test processing takes 4–8 weeks from the date the sample is received by the laboratory. We will keep you informed of your order status by email.
